DNR Organizational Chart
Environmental Quality Division will develop and implement regulatory programs based on Pokagon Band Constitution and Section 2.04 of the Health, Environmental Protection and Building Codes Act. Much of the regulations and rules are addressed by NREPA and are based on federal environmental statues that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is responsible for administering.
Natural Resources & Conservation Division will conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife, and plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the Tribal membership.
This division functions similar to the US Fish & Wildlife Service.
Tribal Planning Division will conduct systematic planning and development of projects and studies in such areas as land and community development. Primarily it will focus on the development and implementation of the planning documents and help develop regulations as mandated by the Tribal constitution:
- Classification of Tribal Lands
- Land Use And Conservation Code
- Long Term Land Acquisition and Development Plan.
Tribal Historic Preservation Office administers the national historic preservation program, review National Register of Historic Places nominations, maintain data on historic properties that have been identified but not yet nominated, and consult with Federal agencies during Section 106 review on tribal lands.
