Captain Chris VanCompernolle began his Law Enforcement career in 1989 as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff with The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department. In 1991 Captain VanCompernolle obtained his State of Michigan Law Enforcement Certification from Grand Rapids Community College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He went on to work for The City of Zeeland Police Department, the Covert Township Police Department and the City of Bangor Police Department.
In 2006, Captain VanCompernolle was hired by the Pokagon Tribal Police Department as a road patrol officer. In 2008 he was promoted to Sergeant, in 2009 was promoted to Lieutenant, and in 2010 was promoted to Police Captain.
