Student Highlight

The Department of Education is searching for students who demonstrate academic and/or extra-curricular excellence. Each month we will honor two students who have shown great achievements or improvements in the classroom, and two students who have achieved great things in extra-curricular activities. The academic excellence award could be awarded to a student who has demonstrated any of the following: high marks, great improvement, excellent attitude, perfect attendance, or a strong work ethic. The extra-curricular award could be awarded to a student that has excelled, improved, or worked hard in any extra-curricular activity. These activities include, but are not limited to, sports, band, clubs, organizations (i.e. boy/girl scouts), or community-related functions. There will be a winner picked from each category, every month from three grade levels (K-5, 6-8, and 9-12).
