The Pokagon Band is again offering Pokagon citizens (age 18-54) and their guests the chance to attend a day of fellowship recognizing the suffering, strength and resilience of the Anishinabe children who were separated from their families and culture at this institution. The daylong event June 6, 2018 includes ceremonies, tours, and reflection.
Tribal Council decided to open the Mt. Pleasant Boarding School trip to any interested citizen. Those who register are eligible for hotel accommodations for the night of June 5, and all Pokagon attendees will receive two day’s per diem. Mileage expenses will be reimbursed after the trip.
