Our Dowagiac tribal village contains townhomes, elder houses and duplexes, and lease-to-own homes.

Kekyajek Odanek & Ejedak Elders Villages

Kekyajek Odanek & Ejedak, as the names state, is the elders village located on Dailey Road in Dowagiac, Michigan. The village provides housing for eligible Pokagon Band elders. It is managed and maintained by the Department of Housing & Community Development.

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Must be an enrolled Pokagon Band Elder (55 years old or older).
  2. An applicant for a Low-Income Housing Unit shall be within the Low Income Guidelines.
  3. An applicant for a Housing Unit other than a Low-Income Housing Unit shall have adjusted income of at least three times the monthly rent.
  4. Must not have a criminal history.

Townhomes

The tribal village offers two- and three-bedroom townhomes near a spacious playground and basketball court.

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Must be an enrolled Pokagon Band citizen 18 years old or older or a Pokagon Band citizen who is an emancipated minor.
  2. An applicant for a Low-Income Housing Unit shall be within the Low Income Guidelines.
  3. An applicant for a Housing Unit other than a Low-Income Housing Unit shall have adjusted income of at least three times the monthly rent.
  4. Applicant or household is not in debt to the Pokagon Band.
  5. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

To apply for this program, please download and complete the Rental Unit Application below and the Authorization for Release of Information Form and return them to the Housing & Community Development Department.
