One Story | New Works of the Potawatomi: A Survey of Traditional + Contemporary Art Practices
Begun in dialogue with Nooksack artist Louie Gong—of Eighth Generation and their related program, Inspired Natives Project—this exhibition is evolving like a conversation, organically growing and changing shape as new artists are approached and their artistic practices networked together. This jointly curated project will include a range of Native American artists (with both local and national profiles), bringing together a selection of works that complement and expand on the One Story program.
The Art Gallery at Southwestern Michigan College is located in Room 108 of the Dale A. Lyons Building on the Dowagiac Campus. Gallery hours are Monday–Thursday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and by appointment. Art reception and the gallery are open to visitors at no cost. Gallery will run from Feb. 16 – March 17.
