Unless stated, anyone interested in learning more about Neshnabe ways is welcome to participate in Pokagon cultural activities. It’s always a good idea to call event organizers for more information ahead of time regarding the event.
There are many stories and teachings about the history of the Neshnabek (a Potawatomi term meaning Original People, which we use to refer to ourselves).

The Pokagon Band has a preference policy, so there are two sections: jobs that are open to anyone and jobs open to Pokagon Band citizens and their spouses.

Citizens are welcome to use tribal facilities for gatherings, subject to the Facility Use Policy.

The Enrollment Office manages the records of tribal citizenship and maintinas the citizens rolls. Forms to update citizens addresses are available here and at the Enrollment Office, 58620 Sink Road, Dowagiac, (269) 462-4238.
The Department of Human Resources will develop and maintain a talent pool database for Pokagon citizens and spouses. Individuals who desire to work for the government in either a part- or full-time capacity should complete an application on the Pokagon Band website to become part of the talent database.
Once an individual has submitted a talent database application, they will receive hiring preference for positions in which they are qualified for and have indicated they may have an interest in. It is the applicant’s responsibility to keep the HR Department updated with any change of address, phone number, education level, and current/past employment.Applicants are able to withdraw from the talent database at any time.

Citizens can purchase tax exempt fuel at the following locations: The Bent Tree Market near Four Winds Dowagiac, the Benton Harbor Marathon, the Hartford Citgo on Main Street, the Keeler Super Store Gas Station in Hartford, and the Edwardsburg Marathon.
