All Pokagon Health Services patients, as well as any Pokagon citizen, can access health care navigation services.
Affordable Care Act
The health care navigator is a certified application counselor and can assist you with signing up for a health insurance plan through the marketplace. Native Americans have many unique protections built into the Affordable Care Act, and depending on your income level, plans can be free of cost-sharing requirements such as deductibles and copays.
Medicaid
With the expansion of Medicaid services in Michigan and new regulations in Indiana, more Native Americans have access to these programs. The health care navigator can assess whether or not applicants will qualify for these resources and can assist with the application process.
Pokagon Band Healthcare Sponsorship Program
Health Services has launched a new program for Purchased/Referred Care that will sponsor premiums for plans through the marketplace for citizens who meet specific financial and healthcare requirements. Program requirements are available upon request.
