Department Overview

To accomplish the above, the department has begun the process of aligning the various systems, jobs, and leadership expectations of the government operations to provide exceptional Tribal Citizen service with the goal of becoming an “Employer of Choice” in Southwest Michigan.

As a strategic partner with the Tribal Council, HR develops and delivers innovative human resource programs and services designed to support the Vision, Mission, Guiding Principles, and Expected Outcomes of the Pokagon Band. HR Department core services and competencies include: recruitment and staffing, employee relations, organizational and employee development, risk management, compensation and benefits, payroll, HR information management, and regulatory compliance.
