We partner with local colleges and universities to ensure affordable tuition, scholarships, and tutoring opportunities for citizens and employees.
Indiana University South Bend
On February 26, 2015, we entered into an agreement with Indiana University South Bend (IUSB). This offsets the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition for citizens and reduces tuition costs for employees living in Michigan.
Lake Michigan College
On June 9, 2015, we began a partnership with Lake Michigan College. We've committed to financially supporting their Hanson Technology Center, where tribal citizens, custodial parents, and staff members can study and later apply their knowledge to internships at various Pokagon Band enterprises.
Southwestern Michigan College
In the fall of 2015, the first cohort of the Tribal Leadership Program will begin classes at SMC. Courses included are Principles of Accounting I, American Indian Studies and Policy, Marketing, Micro and Macroeconomics. These represent just 16 of the 28 total required credits. The Education Department oversees the application process.
