The purpose of the Elder's Council is to:

To better meet the need of the total Elder Indian population by coordinating available funding and Elders' needs.

To provide a communication network to disperse information to and among the Indian population.

To advise and consult with federal, state, public and private agencies on all aspects of Elder Indian affairs.

To obtain, coordinate, manage and dispense funds for the fulfillment of the needs of this Council and the Elder community.

To monitor all programs relating in any way to Indian Elders.

To service in a way that shall be beneficial to the Indian community.

Meetings

The Elders Council business meeting is always the first Thursday of the month at 11:00 a.m. at the Pokagon Community Center.

The social luncheon is always the third Thursday of the month at the Community Center at 11 a.m. Often special speakers will give presentations, or the group will play bingo, or have an auction or a 50/50 raffle. Our December social luncheon features a gift exchange!
