Updated Financial Education Requirements for Distributions
Effective July 2025, the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi has amended the Revenue Allocation Plan (RAP). This update ensures our young citizens build a solid financial foundation before receiving distributions. We want to support you in managing your future wealth with confidence.
Understanding the New Requirements
If you are a citizen between the ages of 18 and 21, you must meet specific educational requirements to receive your direct payments.
If you do not meet these requirements right away, you will not lose your funds. Instead, the Band will securely hold your payments. Please note that these funds are held directly by the Band, not the Minors’ Trust. You will receive your held payments as soon as you meet the education requirements, or automatically when you turn 21.
Eligibility and Required Proof
To receive your direct payments, you need to provide documentation showing you have met the educational standards. We accept the following forms of proof:
- A high school diploma
- A high school equivalency certificate (GED)
- Proof of completion from an approved educational program
The Chi Ishobak Financial Wellness Program
